Problem Gambling Resources

The Hawaii Coalition Against Legalized Gambling has extensive reference materials,
such as copies of research articles, statistics, and news briefs. We also have several
DVDs on gambling available, including one on gambling issues on Hawaii and another
on the effects of problem gambling on women and families. To locate reference
materials and/or arrange a free DVD showing for your organization, please call the
HCALG office at 808-594-7766.

Legislative Information

The mission of Hawaii Legislature’s Public Access Room (http://hawaii.gov/lrb/par/) is to
provide information on how the citizens of Hawaii can enhance their ability to participate
in the legislative process. This includes newsletters and other documents on how to
track bills, timetables, reference charts, and other valuable materials. They also provide
services, such as making free copies of your testimony, and computer, office supplies,
and workspace in which you may prepare your testimony.

For information on how to write and submit testimony about a bill, visit the Hawaii State
Legislature web site at http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/. Scroll down to the icon that
says “Submit Testimony.” The site includes other valuable information, such as Hearing
Notification and Measure Tracking.
